That is a very similar spec to mine, only I used an Avonbar phase 2 cam. Why are you use a 276 degree cam in a turbo engine especially with a T2? don't you think you will loose some of the benefits of the T2 by making it slightly too cammy?

I will look forward to seeing what it produces as mine only managed 200 miles before I had to take the car off the road to sort out the bodywork, so I'm yet to get it set up.

what sort of power did yours produce?

im not doing the build of my engine, however we just got a cam that was advised for mild/fast road.

I have no idea, it never ran more than 7 psi of boost and even that was for a very short amount of time. I had the actuator wound down as far as I could to stop it boosting while I ran it in. The CR was only 8.3:1 but I found it had plenty of low down torque. I was aiming for about 150hp, that is with a Renault 5 Garrett T2 phase 1 hybrid. I think nic managed 200hp with a similar turbo. I put quite a few details in a build thread at the time, I'll find it if you're interested.

Found it, http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...tid=313847&fr=0.
I've also noticed you're using a Verto clutch. You might want to consider either changing to pre Verto or RTS as I think you will find a standard pressure plate will not hold. Of course it may well depend what power/torque you are aiming for.
Anyway, I'll stop talking now and let others have their say as I know there are many more knowledgeable people on here who can advise you better than I can.

id perhaps look at a gt17, they seem to be popular, i know it seems like a im a fan boy n all, but they work, and they work well.

i think im combination with the big cam in the upper revs youll be onto a winner with a gt17.

Got some more pictures on how the builds coming along, the motor was meant to be put in today however the IC is too big for the front and the ARP rod bolts are the wrong size. should be done this time next week i hope.

Weve started sorting the dash out and refurbed the wheels.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

you have got some good parts there but i would go for the phase 2 cam on a billet X drilled, these have come down in price over the last few months
cam followers and dont bother with the push rods if the old ones havent got much wear on the tips

a centre mains strap is advisable, the standard steel backed oil pump is well up to the job

This is going to be very similar to mine, I can't decide to keep the t2 and have it rebuilt as a hybrid or get a gt17....

Be very interesting to see how this turns out. When do you think it'll be running?

no no no no, you need more boost! you can never ever come on here and say I have enough boost, that's just silly.

As Flame Red said Nic pushed his hybrid T2 to 190ish (I actually bought that turbo off him) but I suspect that it isn't too efficient at that boost pressure. It isn't really a true hybrid as it still runs a T2 comp wheel and housing but they have been re-profiled and a 360 degree bearing chucked on. Very little lag though, great turbo but maybe doesn't have the power potential of the GT17.

Cheers for the comments, all taken onbored, at the moment ive gone without driving for 6 monthsish so im just dying to get back on the road. once ive been flying about for a bit i dare say i might as Nic for some gt17 manifolds and get a turbo and sell my mirage lump with the t2.

Almiche, im taking is very easy at first I'll run it in for 2-300 miles then do an oil change, ill do this with the actuator wound all the way down the turn it up in stints to about 10 psi where im hoping for about 150 ish :)
