I had the flange side of mine macined so the two flanges were the same thickness. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Could I take away some metal with my angle grinder where the washer sits, on the back of the manifold? |

Aluminium doesn't "grind" well at all, it just clogs up the grinding wheel. If you want to remove aluminium use a very coarse sanding disc on your angle grinder.

Hm yeah stepped washers seem the quickest and easiest option, I'll give them a go.
