Well title says it all just intrested in some feed back pos or neg I am trying to run all 3 ports into a collector at the turbo flange so far so good I think!

Nice work mate.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Thats pretty good going. I would like to say something about the length from outer ports to turbo flange in comparison to the centre port.

But to be honest, how would you ever get the right distance on the centre one to balence it all......

I would say its going to flow fairly well!

I see what you are saying Sam,
I taugt about it but decided what Robert said in Longy's design thread that is as important to keep the primarys as short as possable to keep spool time down so went with this

You did say negative feedback was OK :)

I'm with Sam on this. You may have gained a few revs in spool up time but you will have hammered the VE on No. 4.

Just my unproven opinion.

Sorry to hi jack this thread, but what are you peeps thoughts on bore size? Ive used 1" nominal bore pipe..

Mike, 1" nominal bore pipe is actually about 28mm ID.

I've ran simulations for 200+hp at 25mm through to 35mm and 28mm is the best for the outers. 31mm is better for the centre pipe but not by much and is not available, so I've used 28mm throughout. purely theoretical at the moment.

It's more about generating a good low pressure in the manifold at valve overlap. Smaller pipe may create a higher average pressure loss, but it creates a lower trough and higher peaks.

Yup deffently want PRos and cons, I see what you are saying Paul and it is a consern but ! I unsure as to whether the VE gains are going to be worth anything considering you would have to turn no4 primary back on it's self to make it even close to the right length,

the question is, Is the Juce worth the squese ?

I'm using 33 od which is 31.5 I'd which seems prfect to me it squares out niclely at the port. The bends are made in 38 od as the mandrel bender I have acess to slightly deforms the pipe into a more oval shape so I steped up a bit to keep every thing nice and smoth.

Well, all my investigation shows that you can gain as much of a performance increase from an equal length turbo manifold as you can from fitting a 7 port head.

So I think it is worth getting it right.

And if you already have a 7-port head it make the design of a manifold much easier as you don't have to worry about the inlets.

I was thinking about this Wil. You could make a banana style manifold but keep it down the back of the engine on the 7-port.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
