hi ive just bought my first mini its a 1.3i cooper and tips on how to keep it in tip top condition and rust free. i want it to handle its alright at the moment but its very twitchy in the corners especially when lifting off any suggestions thank you danny

Probably the reason it is a bit twitchy is down to the wheels, 7x13 at a guess and with a big offset. These will not be helping, however I'm guessing you like the look.

Looks tidy

replace ALL the suspension and subframe bushes. Those big wheels will have over worked them and worn bushes give similar symptoms to what you describe.

also as Tom pointed out, the 7x13 deep dish wheels are a comprimise between handling and styling.

also check the front subframe mountings, its worth ditching them for non rubber ones.

thank you for all your advise i bought it with them wheels on so i should get 10''s or 12''s and what tyres i will properly poly bush it if i can dont know much about minis so im opening to any suggestions
