Hello
Purchased an Minispares-Crosspin-Diff and on asssembling it locks if i torque down the crownwheel. Tryed to use the old fibre washers, but it still locks...

tryed the second Diff from an Friend, the same problem... (both purchased Dec 2010).

Compared to an old Minispares Diff mine looks a little bit different (Holes for crown wheel are drilled through and the planet gears looks different)
Parts are also not changeable.

Is it an new manufacturer?

in Detail

no Problems to this Stage....

as i tryed to torque up...locking. On both differentials

from this diff are the output shafts

today i tried something
- changed planetwheels crosswise: no effect, still locking
- build up without one fibre washer, non locking, but turns very roughly, seems like the tooths are not really matching

- build up with some old planet wheels (Diff-pins have the same diameter): it works, and runs smooth smile.gif

the difference between the old planet wheels and the new one from the Cross-Pin-Diff. The teeths are very different i think.... could this be the problem?

Measured the distance between Pin and surface for the Crown wheel, both Cross pin diffs are 0,3mm (12 thou) shorter than the original diffcase.

any suggestions?
I'am writing an letter to minispares and will waiting for reply...

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if i recall

alls fine! you ned to flip around the 80 x 90 deg part which holds the diff pins in a full 180 deg on the top pic, from left to right

you may also need to remove the tit off the output bevel gear, the one which exits the crown wheel the original one. this sometimes fouls the item i mentioned above

i'am not shure, i understand the flip around right, thought its only possible to build in one position... look tomorrow at that..

There are two different types of output shafts, one is suitable one isn't. I had this same problem. Can't remember how to tell the difference between the two though i'm affraid.
