I read either in the forum or on a vendor page that there are modifications required to the JimStim if running some of the addon boards.

Anyone have a link to this or more information?

For example Jean's 4 channel board requires the modification of the MS2 daughtercard:

and I thought I read that the JimStim may need modification as well for the VR board and 4 channel board, just cannot find that reference.

There is no need to modify the JimStim for the 4-channel driver board but if you want to see the outputs on the JimStim LEDs, you'll need to run wires from the 4-channel board output to the JimStim LED header.

As for the VR board, if you're using the V2.0 then there is no need to do anything other than to have the pull up jumpers installed. Either 5V or 12V will work.

Thanks Jean.

Do you have any pictures of the 4 channel board installed with the DB15?

One document shows a diagram that places the DB15 where the LEDs are located. Are there other practical locations?

This really is a separate topic though...

We put the DB15 above the LED location. We then fitted the LEDs on the other side of the board and drilled new holes. We will seal the original holes.

Some people leave off the LEDs, but they tell you that the ECU is firing the coils and when you are up to temperature.

We tested the injector outputs on the JimStim using Jean's method. You just need to remember the grounds.

Thanks Paul. That was my next question to you as I thought I remembered a thread where you had assembly photos.

In that thread(Sequential Megasquirt) this is mentioned:

Then added the circuits for the ignition outputs. This follows GeraldO's post.

Is GeraldO a user on this forum or another forum?
