Someone mentioned these at the weekend *happy*

There appear to be versions of the TD04 that are comparable with the Garrett Gt17 and Gt20 models.

Very good efficiencies and nice compact design. t2 flanges as well.

Is anyone using one ????

No just highlighting the potential:

0.1 m3/sec is about 15 lbs/min.

GT2056 looks 1% more efficient at the pressure and air flow we want for full boost, i've probably worked it out wrong though.

The TD04's are fitted to the same Saabs as the GT17's.

Cheep'ish too.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

They are fitted to the more powerfull versions. but they seem to be a very similar fitment, maybe interchangeable.

They are cheaper, but just like the Gt17, there seem to be some cheap chinese copies on the market.

Last week I would probably have said GT1752.

This week I would definately say GT1752.

Really does depend on your horsepower target. But if it's below 236hp then there is only one Garrett option.

You could try one of the above Mitsubishi turbos.

I,ve been looking at these too. The TD04 T15 has a bigger compressor than the GT17 and the Saab boys change it for a T17 or 19 which have evn bigger compressors.

The word on the internet seems to be that the Mitsubishi turbos are more reliable and durable than the Garret GT series.

The flanges are the same, and are easily adapted to the Metro cast iron manifold, if required.

So no real need for a gt20 or 25

Paul, what do you think the limit is for the gt17 psi/bhp
i thought it would be below 200bhp, but now apparently not

We don't really know because we do not have a compressor map.

I would have said that it has a maximum flow of about 25 lb/min in the 15 to 25 psi range, but it could be a little higher than that.

I think Robert is more qualified to comment on the GT1752.

Which mitsy is this turbo run on?
I dont think itll be the new shape L200, i say think because its been a while since i worked on one now.
From what i remember they are a 3 bolt fixing? but the actual turbo is TINY! i thought it would be too small.
I was looking at a turbo from a yaris the other day, wondering if it would fit.

The TD04s are ran on Saabs, Volvos and Scoobies as well as others.
