i can only say good things about these people, there service was realy good eveything ive ever ordered they had in stock and everything arrived when they said it would normally in a day or two. and they were always available on the fone with good advise and had plenty of time for me. when i did my conversion this site wasnt up and running or i hadnt found it so avonbar were a real help especially ian.

only gripe could be a tiny bit on the dear side, but saying that everything i got of them seemed good quality and is still working.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

yeah i've ordered stuff online before and it came in no time at all!

would agree service is very good but parts are pricey

come on ian at AVONBAR the prices, sort these buddy and i bet you will get all the trade on hear.

before i found this site i always phoned AVONBAR and quizzed them with why/what/how,and ian was always very helpful and had the time to help me out, and never tried to sell me anything that i didn't need.

and because of this i've kept buying from them.

also i can get there in 1/2 hour on a good day, which is very handy at times.

Yes would definately agree, top bloke with the advice side of things, quite willing to spend 15 mins on the phone while you bombard him with questions etc. The stuff IS on the dear side but I suppose it is worth it for the backup you get in terms of being able to ask questions etc.

Ditto Top guys there, when I was struggling to get and oil feed to my turbo they were the only place that took the time to help me out and get me sorted!

Cheers for the comments. Just to let you know we have been looking at the prices very hard recently. Comparing prices from the mags and other sources, We have made some changes.

yeah i agree too the best thing is when you phone them they dont ask if you've bought anything from them (even tough i have) like most companies, thing is with other people if you havent bought anything they refuse to talk to you hardly gonna come back are you

I do remember from my younger days in the turbo scene, the guys at Avonbar were always happy to help, and would spend a few minutes on the phone chatting. Never really appreciated it at the time, but how do you guys ever make any money if you're always on the phone? No doubt you just ask if the person has internet access and point them over here now!!!

My particular experience of Avonbar that i'm going to shout about is their 'turbo' oil pump.
This is discussed in the link below. Suffice to say, Avonbars pump might well be the most expensive out there (?20 ish more than minispares turbo pump) but I don't care! It's nice to have the choice of buying plop for pennies or pukka for pounds!
Put it this way, what is ?20 compared to the price of the rest of your new engine? If you're too tight to skimp on that extra ?20, you can pick up your free rebuild ticket from the wooden spoon stand.

I spose i will just have to keep my eye on the oil pressure gauge...

ian's been helping me loads just lately and i appreciate it a lot, the only place to buy turbo parts for sure,

a top company, ive only bought a couple of things from them but i was really happy with my solid ounted subfame kit, he took the time to explain the benifits etc.

top job

i used avonbar this week, the order finally went through on tue afternoon (about 3ish) when they rang me back as my credit card was maxxed out.

parts arrived on wed afternoon!

ill be using them again and without worry if im in a rush

I had a dump valve and oil drain off Avonbar and couldn't be more pleased with their service. Even though I was not spending that much with them, they took the time to find out what I wanted and didn't try to sell me the most expensive bits either.

If only all Mini suppliers were like this:)

Highly recommended and the end result is that I will be spending a lot more money through the magazine with them in the future, thanks Avonbar!

I can see Avonbar is i London area, but how far/long is it from central city London??

they are quite a way out of london, about an hours drive at least i would say, they are near stanstead if that helps.

not too bad if your staying towards the eastend and have a car- A12, m11 junction 8 are the main roads you need to get there
