Hi all

As some of you might have seen im now int the process of rebuilding my 1098 supercharged engine after a mere 300 ish miles after the thrusts had spun.

As i am replacing the block crank and bearings etc i figured i would replace the rings and completely starting a fresh,

I am running +40thou hypatec pistons with hastings rings that i got from minisport aus.

Does anyone know where i can get new rings from that fit these pistons? Other than getting some sent over from australia??

cheers Luke

I would look at total Seal rings.

I was thinking of getting some total seal rings. I know Sprocket has used them, and maybe he has the answers below:

1 - what is a typical cost of a set?
2 - How do you go about getting the righ rings for your pistons?

We have total seal rings in the van. They cost about £105 delivered.

Have a read of this, all the info you need:

Looking at http://www.totalseal.com/SearchByApplication.aspx They only do large bore rings, so probably not an option for Luke. That said, they may be able to make a custom set for you.

Too pricy for me then, a set of new pistons is only a few quid more than that.

Speak to Minispares as they use Hastings rings for their mega pistons.

It was £105 delivered to the supplier in york. There was then carridge on top of that, so closer to £115. Good rings, but not worth it when the pistons are so cheep.
