Hello boys and girls, can anyone tell me if it is ok to use the stub on the top of the carb to connect to boost gauge to. I've blanked the pipe from the side of the carb but thought blanking the other seemed a waste of a vacuum source.

I am nobody, nobody's perfect. Therefore I am perfect

Worked OK for me , once I had run a drill through it (there is a little ball and spring non return valve in there IIRC)

Wish I hadn,t though, because the carb is now spoiled and I cant find another so that I can try re-connecting this pipe.

O/T but if you want to try the lean-off pipe again and have drilled out the NRV, just put one in the pipe run. Just use the cheap plastic type that are used on aquariums / fish tank air systems for a trial (about £1 each off eBay) and if succesful you can get small metal ones actually meant for fuel systems.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I'm looking forwards to this show!!!!

But as above, no. And in all cases I would advise keeping the lean-off pipe.

Just buy a spacer with a take-off in it.

It should not work correctly fora gauge. Its a spark port, so only gives vacuum at part throttle, although boost properly.

It will not show vacuum at idle.

So if its boost only...yes it will work. If its boost/vac, no it wont work properly.
