can you use a 12g940 head for turbo applications on a 998 and will it give better power than a 12g295?

as much power as possible and a track car. im going for a gt17 with a 12g940 head not sure which cam though ive just bought an mg metro one.

Well I've managed 155 with that setup, but I'm confident that it could relieve 170 at least. But the development of this setup has come to an end.

i want to try a few other cams. im using forged omegas on it so should be able to boost quite high.

If you want as much power as possible why do you want a 998? We use a 998 for class.

998 because with a turbo on it you have to time the capacity by 1.4 or something to race in the 1.4 class.

i presume TT means twin turbo :S

i'll be using the 12g940 and im not sure which cam yet though think i could put something more aggresive than an mg metro one in it?

If it is for class then it makes sence, just checking. Ours is 998 so we can run in the up to 1400cc mod prod class in hillclimbing and sprinting.

TT is twin turbo, but only because me and Wil are twins, it only has one turbo.

Have a read around on cams. We ran the avonbar phase 2 cam once and it was crap, but we are trying other cams and know a lot more now than when we put the phase 2 in.

yh i live 5 minutes from the curborough track so be there alot of the time when its ready.

Not sure what you've been sniffing, but we'll be adding ports to the 5 we have at th emoment.

how will that stand with the regs guys? or does it not matter if you keep a factory head in mod prod?

Mod prod you can change the head. Hence the KAD and BMW heads are very popular. In road going it can be modified but has to be original casting type.
