Recieved this in my youtube inbox. Don't know if anyone on here would be interested?

Hi minimadmotorman,

Theirs a new drag race series starting this year (WWW.OUTLAWSTREET.CO.UK) so if you or any of your mates are interested check it out. The way the points are handed out means that you dont need to be the fastest to win either. Its over 8 rounds and is 25quid to join for the year.Theirs already about 40 cars in it but would be nice to have some more wacky cars too!!!

bellow is the press release for the series. Would be good if you could put it on your forums so they can get a few more racers for the season:

Outlaw Street is a new 'grass roots' drag racing series for 2010, the series is run by a collective of people who've competed in all manner of racing from UkSrS, Power Tour and the Castrol Challenge.

The series is open to anyone who owns a street legal car & wants to enjoy some 1/4 mile racing with like minded people.

The series is open to 4 cylinder & up cars and is spread over 10 meets throughout the 2010 drag racing season, the meets consist of 8 (points eligible) weekends and 2 (non points eligible) one day events. You dont have to stay all weekend to be eligible for points and can just turn up for a day to race.

We race at both Santa Pod & Shakespheare County Raceway, with a combination of RWYB meets, Performance Test & Tune events & specialist weekends

The rules for the series are quite simple:

Your car MUST HAVE:
1. A current MOT
2. A current TAX disc
3. A full functioning exhaust system
4. Tyres with road legal tread depth
5. Adhere to the rules of the tracks we race at

Your car CANT HAVE:
1. Open Headers
2. Slicks

The points system is built on a combination of 3 factors:
1. Quickest ET
2. Improvement Time from last event
3. Attendance

This means that you dont have to run the fastest car to have a chance of winning a trophy across the season, points will be posted on the forum after each meet so you can track how youre doing, whos beating you and who youve beat.

There will also be a trophy at EACH meet for the driver with the fastest reaction time and at the end of the season therell be trophies for:

1st
2nd
3rd
Fastest reaction time across the series
Best improved driver
Hard luck award
Spirit of the Outlaw
'Rebel V8' Trophy

Membership per season is £25, this gives you unlimited entry to the Outlaw Street forum, your own unique race numbers and an Outlaw Street window sticker

To check out the series you can find us at: www.outlawstreet.co.uk

If youd like to join or have any questions please email outlawstreet@hotmail

I wonder how many of us could actually keep a car going all year :)

Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

Sounds much like the Pro Street Drag Series (which is sponsored by some big companies like HKS) except in Pro Street they have different classes which your qualifying 1/4 mile times put you into - you can then win your class, and win overall by having the most points. Has been running for the last couple of years.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
