take the mechanical pump off. you can modify a fuel pump blank to use as an oil return for your turbo. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

a blanking plate across this hole in the block, or an oil return from turbo to block are the two solutions for this.

Either. you need an oil return so would have to modify it.

EDIT - you can take this plate and modify it for your oil return - that's what I did - depending on your turbo's oil return configuration. EDIT 2 - John beat me to it although with a slightly wierd shaped plate...... Edited by Rod S on 17th Mar, 2010. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

Do a search on fuel pump you will find all the answeres. Basically you need an injection type fuel pump. There are lots of ways to wire one in most people interlock it with the oil pressure. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

and whats the bst electric fuel pump to go for and where would you wire this in your loom sorry for all the questions its my first mini build http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Electric-Fuel-pe...=item41482fbf5a It will do injection which is higher pressure but, so long as your regulator is in good working order it will be fine for the lower pressures of the SU carb under boost. It's the closest equivilant of the MPI pump which lots of people use. To wire it in safely use a relay controlled by something like oil pressure (as per the original Metro Turbo) and put an inertia switch in line (like all modern cars) to kill it in the event of a crash. EDIT - too slow typing again, I'm off back out to the garage..... Edited by Rod S on 17th Mar, 2010. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
