Hi to all you forced induction fans, I don't have a turbo but I do have an M45 Eaton Supercharger on an A series (A+) MG Metro Turbo block with a K100 8v (BMW motorbike twincam) head.

Stick with blow through with an intercooler in there. Sounds like you need a BOV of some sort. There are a couple of guys on this forum who have a blow through charger setup who could probably help you out. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

sounds like you need a recirculating dump valve in there. If you snap the throttle shut with the charger still spinning at 6k, it's still blasting air into the plenum.

Personaly, in this situation I would go with the 'suck through' instalation, after all, thats how BMW and all other modern supercharged engines work. Its all to do with the fact that the supercharger is a posative displacement compressor and its fixed to the crank shaft, all be it with a belt. with a blow through set up at 6000rpm when the throttle is snapped shut, the supercharger is still moving ALL the air an it has to go some where. While you can fit a dump valve, its a mighty big one and noisey as a downside. Not that it doesnt work, It's my opinion, that it is not the way to go about it, but then, its not my engine, and I can only give advice without any practical experience.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
