I'm getting ready to do this soon on my mini(850cc) and was wondering if anyone has done it, and if so what luck they've had with it. If not, I'll keep everyone posted...

Do you need to make a bush or are they available? I seriously doubt it! |

i have a 1275 primary currently with a local firm who are making me an oversize bush to fit a 998, they werent keen on making it fully floating, and so will make it press fit, im not sure what clearances they are giving the crank, but supplied them with a nos 998 front bush so they can compare

It does not need to be fully floating. A push fit into the gear is how I would do it. Remember that bush is only used when the clutch is disengaged so there is very little load ever going through it. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

I only requested they make it fully floating as some people have had issues which the MS floating bush has cured, the way I saw it if I was paying to get one made from scratch, may as well get the best from it.

Any advice you can give me to pass on to my machinist would be appreciated, as he's never worked on an a-series before, being an american and all. I know he can do it, but I would be nice for him to have some info on it.

What's the weight? I can get a give or take figure. Maybe I missed something. Are you doing up the drop gears themselves? If so, what's the price? |

just the bush swordy, so you can slot straight into the 1275 primary and use on the small bore, id imagine it would only weigh a 100g or so?

So in other words I wouldn't have to take it to the machine shop then?

Right, went online to buy the material last night, but they are asking £70 to deliver to me, rang them this morning and asked them to use Parcel force as it will only be about a tenner, but they dont want to know, suggested I get someone to collect and post on, anyone close to:

What's the total we're looking at? Minus post for me, we can figure that out later. I'm interested in getting the bushes.
