What have people done to provide an intank solution and return lines on a LWB Mini? Anyone modified a Rover pump to fit?

This site has an interesting solution:
http://www.stallard-engineering.co.uk/stor...he_fuelling.htm

I was looking at some solutions here in the US for converting older cars to EFI, but most are really large and I am concerned with routing around the subframe. The side mounted option in the link seems a good one except for exposure.

I am guessing this should actually be in "beginner's tech" where I had originally found this post:

I was going to ask about this to see what people did. But in the end I thought that 'T'ing into the low pressure side of the pump is the best idea.

For two reasons:

1) it's cheap, easy and doesn't involve removing the tank
2) The original pipe from the tank is maybe a bit too small, if you 'T' into the low pressure side of the pump it effectively increases the flow to the pump.

The surge on these tanks is terrible. Speak to Brumski over on EFI Minis, lol, he suffered from fuel starvation over the Mountain passes on the Italian Job, yet there was loads of fuel still in the tank.

Lift pump, swirl pot and an external high pressure pump is a better option

The internal pump modification is real neat though

I had exactly the same problems Sprocket mentioned, in the end i fitted a swirl pot, was the only way i could stop fuel starvation, i even tried fitting an internal pump, but that didnt solve my problems...

Is the fuel starvation a problem for carb'd cars? Because of the float chamber you may negate any issues.

For me the fuel starvation issue with because i had converted to k-series so fuel injection, i never ran the car with a carb engine so couldnt tell you if there was any issues there.

That Webcon pump looks the business and the price is not scarey

Depth might be an issue perhaps

It was indicated that the WEBCON link had specs, but it is really an advertising piece. It would be nice to know the size.

And yes the price seems right...

Found the specs:

Hi all

I have fitted the Webcon pump into the original van/traveller/pick-up tank, using a box welded to the base. As yet it is untested in terms of surge. You might be interested in the pictures...

Thanks for the pictures, so what is the height of the fuel tank. I just ours out, but never measured it. The pump is 195 millimeters = 7.67716535 inches

I had a 5cm tray welded to the bottom of the tank to accommodate the Webcon pump. The car is a mini Phoenix Pick-up as far as we know it was a prototype.
