There is a lot of impressive talk on this website, and lots of impressive engine specs and power outputs. Who is willing to show us all what you have got.

Many of us on here (Dave C, Mark H, Jon F...) regulary meet on a regular basis throughout the year to do some drag racing, the two main events are

Mini's V's Beatles - Easter weekend York Dragway
National mini showdown - Mid July Avonpark (shakespear county raceway)

There are also many events before, after and during these events.

Everyone is welcome to come, all you need is a driving licence and a helmet, (or a helmet can be borrowed on the day) and you mini needs to be safe, if you want to be in the road legal turbo class then it will have to have a valid MOT on the car, if it has not then you can go in the race class

So who is up to prove what they have on the drag strip??

Although this year only 1380 NA. may have the edge on a few heavy turbos or std ones as its running 100bhp

York's only an hour for me, anybody going the night before? if you need a break on the way up im south of york.

iain, can I take you up on that offer, camping is not recomended at york! I know first hand!

I'd like to be on the road by york, so hopefully we'll be there :)

once me minis done ill be up for it, did york and avon last year was a good laugh. campted at york last year and to be honest it werent that bad except there didnt seem to be any grass for the tent, if you keep away from the nova and clio crew you might get a bit of sleep too.
i want to do a few track days to but we'll see how we go with money etc
want to defo do a few more dragstrips to. im hoping mini to be dun for easter fingers crossed.

We always go and watch at york, i'd be tempted to have a go, but you guys seem to spend most of the day waiting to have a run, while all the general (rung what yer brung ) mob, get priority.
How many runs did you get last time ? i think i'll stick to trackdays, and possibly Avon park.
The way i look at it ,is to see how many miles per ? i can have.

No Mark, Easter Monday is 28th March, nothing on at Evlington that weekend (yet) . Javelin are there on Sun 13th March and Sat 16th April. Bookatrack are there on the 2nd April.

i'm hoping to make it to york and the showdown this year, not a massive spec engine but just enjoy the 1/4 mile really. did avon park in 03 in my standard 1275 cooper, shit times but was the best thing ive done in a mini.

i did about 7 or 8 runs i think at minis vs beetles last year

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I'll be going again, not sure my new car will be ready, but I can take my old trusty stead.

hopefully i'll finally be ready for some events this year, i'm just stripping the engine now ready for rebuild and then all thats left is to get the car ready for it!

doesn't look like the car is going to be ready but hopefully i can blag a lift with iain in his?

mine is actually still in one piece after the re-build and going strong so fingers crossed,all being well i hope to crush a bug or two.

I'll do what I can this year. Enjoyed Avon last year.

Just have to check if it clashes with any events.
