Hi there :). Thought I would share these photos of my Turbo fleet with you all :)

First up is my MK1 Metro Turbo. I collected this car only today. It needs a few parts to put it back to original but I swapped it for my homemade car trailer (so can't really grumble!) It is called "Jaffa".

Secondly is my MG Metro Turbo cabriolet. I've owned it about 4 years. It is believed to be the only example existing from just 12 originally made. It was solid but untidy when I bought it. Hence I went about giving it a full respray and new alloy wheels. To further improve it needs a suspension & engine spruce up and hood replacement. I exhibited it at the NEC Classic Car Show in 2007.

Thirdly is my former Stone Grey Turbo. I bought it for £150 about 3 years ago. Did a bit of restoration work on it and did a few laps of Donington with it in 2008. It had a large feature in the November 2007 edition of MG Enthusiast magazine called "Blowing The Leaves Away."

Usual rot in the front floors. I made these panels up myself and painted the rear subframe etc...

Engine was a bit of a hybrid. An experiment of my ideas. MG Metro cam, higher diff, modified carburetter & actuator amongst modifications....

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow........

Thats my question too! There is also a kid in cornwall who seems to attract metro turbo's! I think he's got about 5 of them now!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Yes it was..

For those of you that do not Know she IS the original Metro nut.

She is only being modest and showing you a fraction of the fleet!

Mandy was first in line at Combe to go out on the Stroke day.

Damian had 666 in the form of a birthmark under his hair, Rumourhas it Mandy has "MG" under hers!

She is quite a handy driver to!!

Thanks for the further introduction, Jon *smiley*. It was a good day at Coombe. Well worth the two year wait to finally get a ride with you!

All my Metros have had a strange way of finding me! I have never really gone out to intentionally buy one!

I don't really know much about my soft top. Its been a bit of a mystery. All I've been told is that 12 were made and distributed to all the main Rover dealers in the mid 80's. They were displayed to see if public interest was great enough to put them in full production. It is believed to be the only surviving example now. How true this info is I do not know, but I bought it from the former chairman of one of the large MG clubs so i expect he could be right.

I used to own Minis but don't think i'd have another one again. My last one was a F reg Flame in the year 2000/1. I fitted a MG Metro engine to it. It went to a new home in Florida. A friend of mine had a 1978 850 Mini just last month. He let me drive it round the warehouse. After so long it was nothing like i remembered! But then again i have spoilt myself with my Metro GTi lol.
