I am about to build an A+ 1100 and am contemplating changing the oil pump.

There is a higher flowing minispares one only applicable to 1275.

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=...0TYPE%20POWER...

To your knowledge, is it just a mater of drilling and taping an extra hole in the block to make it fit ?

What about the required spacer ?
I remember reading about one but maybe was it about switching drives.

Also, I can't seem to find any ARP set for crankshaft renewal, ever heard of that ?
Only an out of stock CON ROD BOLT/NUT KIT 998/1100 ARP RACE

Thanks in advance for your quick response, it is VAT Free week, I don't want to miss that ...

No. To make a 1300 pump fit a 998 block, you'll need a spacer between the pump and block.

Get the 998 slot pump. It'll suffice.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

If you use a 1275 pump you will need a spacer otherwise the cam won't fit.

To be hinest I wouldn't bother, just buy the best 998 pump available, easily upto the job.

paul (HRE) machined a 1275 turbo pump to fit a 998 for me, for very little money too if i remember rightly

probably overkill, but the only 998 pumps i could find last year were the horrid alloy backed versions

So what's considered the best pump for a 998 then, especially for turbo use?

Paul, funnily enough, when i drilled my block, the casting had the extra meat on the block there as if they were originally designed to take a drilling for the large bore pump?

dont know why i brought it up, but made me feel warm and fussy in side, so thought id share
