The ones that were on were:

Grooved top with offset tang
Plain Bottowm with centre tang

I have 2 sets of mains bearings both with grooves and offset tang, are these off the old A series?

anyone have the correct part number for mine?

Cheers

Joe

The other number for the standard late 998 mains bearings is AEM3427.

well sent the bearings back to MED to exchange, and heard nothing back

called them up today and spoke to Steve, they had misplaced my contact number and were awaiting my call, turns out Vandervell never made 998 A+ bearings

on the seven engines they used to build they just filed the caps to take the A series ones.

so my choices it seems are to usemod my caps and use grooved vp2's, or try glacier...which Steve doesnt recommend

what do you guys think?

I've also got glacier bearings for mine.
