Right, I'm looking at booking us a stand for this event, we had one last year but hopefully if we get in a bit earlier we may get one in a better place this year.

So, a show of interest please, BUT priority will be going to those people who came last year, and are intending to also buy track passes. If you just want to park up and watch without being a cunt you may as well just park in the public area, as the stands are usually not very big, and TM is biased towards driving, not parking cars up to look pretty...........

We can also buy a package which comes with 6 off track passes, HOWEVER these are only valid from 09.00-11.00 or 17.00-18.00, but are a good price at £25 ea (incl posting out from me to you) rather than £30 ea advance price, or £35 ea on the day.

Alternatively if we can get 25 cars, we can buy a package that gives us our own exclusive TM track session, for £30 each, plus a big stand to fit 25+ cars.

I think the most realistic however is the package with 6 passes, depending on interest we can get more, I think they are at £30 though.

SO, INTEREST PLEASE-

I don't think so no, they specify "road legal cars".

What's the score with the noise regulations at Castle Combe?? Is it measured at 1meter from the tailpipe, level with, and at 45 degrees from the exit?

I need to be sure I'm not wasting my time traveling all that way and find out its over the limit.

Not sure what else I can do to get it down, other than fitting one of those disc mufflers. I could fit the cat, but im waiting till I move the gear selector indoors before I do that really.

I can get the use of a noise power meter, so I could test and see how bad it actualy is.

Is this test accurate, IE, does it depend on the monkey using the meter however he feels on the day, or is the test carried out exactly as per the book?

Help apreaciated guys

Ok I found the rules for track days

Im assuming 'at the tail pipe' means right next to it.

On all our Action Days, the sound limit is 100 dB(A) - measured at the exhaust pipe at 4500rpm on a static test. Your car may be completely road legal, but if it doesn’t meet our check - then sorry, it can’t go out.

I've resolved my running problems I had at the Pod (piss poor 3 day old BP Ultimate) and am considering coming down for this. Only problem is I am on a training course in Elgin which is 4 hours north of Glasgow, meaning I won't be able to leave Glasgow until about 8 or 9 on the Friday night. I reckon it will take me about 7 or 8 hours to get to Combe.

So the question is, how good an event is this? Is it worth the effort of driving over 600 miles? (and 400 miles to get home)
