I have spent most of the Afternoon reading the Micro Squirt Manual and I have to say I am impressed.

Reading trough Part 2.c of this page http://www.microsquirt.info/index.htm

It looks to me that this could be used to phase the injection of Injectors. Would I be right in saying this is one off mod Paul’s and Rod have done to there Mega Squirt's to allow trough Injection of there 5 ports ?

The reason I am looking at micro Squirt is that it looks to be very small compact and for what you get all together very cost effective.

From what I have read it looks like it is not as easy to mod as Mega squirt but this might no be such a problem if it can do all we need in standard guys.

What is peoples Opinion of this unit ?

would i just be better off getting a Mega Squirt ?

This is a very different setup compared to the MS2/V3. And while the MS2/Extra is supposed to work on it (as well as the siamese code), it hasn't been validated in a lot of different configurations and I don't even know if there are cars actually running on it. As for the siamese code, it has never been run on it.

The problem is that this setup is even more limited in terms of I/O than the MS2 and modifying it is not really an option. And one thing is certain is that you will never have 4 injector drivers on it so you won't be able to have staged injection.

So while the packaging is nice, that's the only positive point it has and it has plenty of negative ones especially in a setup where you may (or most certainly will) require some modifications.

As Jean said, the Microsquirt may be limited in potential.

You can buy a ready built Megasquirt from here:

http://www.extraefi.co.uk/ms2_products.htm

You need the "Direct Coil Drive4 Cylinder" option plus a cam sensor input.

That will do everything that my current ECU does running the sequential siamese code with two injectors. Fine for any N/A setup.

I think, reading your other thread as well, you need to decide up front whether you just want to run a very basic setup, ie, like SPI or "wet manifold" or whether you want to be using the "Extra" code or Jean's siamese code.

And consider what if you want to start basic and develop it later.... I won't repeat the detail of what Jean has already said but you can modify the Megasquirt as much as you like, it's all through hole components (apart from the daughterboard) and enough spare space in the box to add extra components or even boards. The Microsquirt seems to be mostly surface mount chips and no spare space.

Also I don't think anyone else on here is using it yet (waits to be corrected.....) whereas several are using Megasquirt in either basic (wet manifold) form or the Extra/siamese code.
