The plan was originally to put a turbo engine in my Racing Flame. then eventually develop the car to full blown track warrior.

But then when Dan's ex-Endaf Owens Miglia came up for sale, my Dad (Paul S) and I decided to buy it between us.

This was back in late October 2008. Until a couple of weeks ago the car has been buried at the back of the barn whilst we worked out what to do with it.

Dad has got all the parts for the engine and box and I've made a start on the wiring.

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=247279

Rather than try to figure out how to get all the electronics already in the car working, I've ripped it all out and have started again. It was cheaper to get a new digital dash than fit all the sensors to the Astratech kit.

Some photos taken just as it started to snow this morning:

The plan is to drive it to Avon but that all depends on getting the EFI working and Dad's car and making a set of manifolds.

Also need to fit a handbrake, wipers, washers, wire in the indicators etc etc.

I feel like a bit of a cheat really.

There's nothing like doing this sort of stuff yourself, but I just haven't got the time, with 4/5 other Minis in the family.

There is so much work gone into this car it is unbelievable. I'm still finding things, like the axel stand points and the fibregalss scuttle! We actually managed to find the master cylinders last weekend!

I've been searching something like 10 minutes for those in the photos. Are they under the drivers ally floor panel?

Yes, three of them and a limiting valve for the rear brakes.

That is one damn nice car, I think i'm right in saying that the whole car went from a shell to a full miglia is less than 4 months.

You really have no idea how much work goes into one of those things, i've seen the birth of a couple and the hours put in is incredible.

And that car is probably 6 years old now, things have moved up a level since then. If you're interested in the best car i have ever seen, look for Kane Astins Mini7 that is truly astonishing

Well spotted, I had not noticed that.

The racing "wets" are detsined for the bin. Sturgeo had a set of A032Rs for Xmas.
