Just got my one today. And am not in the trade or do i have any qualifications in mechanics. I had a look on the net and quoted them "High Volume Parts Buyer
(or frequent user of car parts)" So i got all the bits of paper to do with the car in a file and off i went and she did not even look at them.
Have a look

I did something similar, except I got some phoney business cards done by Vistaprint, 500 for about £3, told them I was setting up as a mobile mechanic, no problems at all.

Having said that, my mate tried something similar, and he does buy lots of parts, and some jobsworth wouldn't give him one. The moral of the story? Pick the young lass behind the counter to ask.

Before I had the trade card I wouldn't even consider buying any bits from Halfords, even though it is about 1/2 a mile from my house. However with the card it makes the prices pretty reasonable. Stuff such as brake pads that are £19.99 on the shelf cost £8 etc.
