I am in the position to but an H.I.F44 and a rebuild kit to suit turbo application but am pondering using my current 1.5" and rebuilding that to turbo spec. If it would be more suitable?
Assuming the spindle seals fit or i can machine the carb to accept them, along with solidifying the float and applying the rising rate boost signal from the plenum to the float chamber..
Unless others find the 1 3/4" fine??
Anybody tried/failed with this?

Thanks, |¬|ari0''

Its ore that just a rebuid kit that differs the NA from forced induction HIF44. The shashpot has a recess for the clamp and a groove has to be machined into the carb body for the seal under the dashpot.

There are other differences like the throttle is on the other side but that doesn't matter so much. I'm fairly sure there is a good post on here about how to convert a carb to suite blow through

Just remember that even a low pressure 998 turbo is likely to make over 70bhp, which is about the threshold between using 1.5 inch and 1.75 inch.

It;s simpler just to use the metro turbo hif
