Rang them yesterday, ordered a SIP Professional mig welder.

This was after being let down by GWE Ltd.

It has just arrived, less than 30 hours. Great Service.

It came direct from SIP. Why couldn't GWE have done the same?

Just been let down by Welduk, but by no fault of their own

Finally orderd a Mig for me & my old man, confirmed it was in stock etc, paid and thought that was that,

Unfortunately Geoff rang me back later in the afternoon and the courier had misquoted, and the carriage had jumped to £150 as apparently they need to send it on a pallet !!

He is a really genuine bloke, and i could tell he was a pissed off about it as me

refunded straight away no quibble and has been emailing me all week with alternative quotes from different couriers (unfortunately still a bit pricey making the order uncompetitve unless i have it delivered to a mainland address)

will probably sort something out with them in the new year when i have a trip across planned.

Change the names (as many times as you like) and that is the story we will all be seeing for the next couple of years...

It's just something we have to live with when not on the mainland....
Ive had stuff shipped for next to nothing.....to horrendous prices that have led me to get a ferry over and collect instead, as prices werent much different.

Best you can do is shop around...and shop around. Or if badly stuck...see if you can get a ferry deal, and go and view the items instead, purchase, and bring them home and make a bit of a trip out of it.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will
