my (our) local mini breakers are dealers in them, they can do every thing they need to... about £450 for the ignition and 700 for the fuel aswell for all the bits, then the work to fit ontop. megajolt/squirt doest the same job, not quite to the same resolution but less than half the price :)

the extra resolution imo is not needed especially as our engines share ports although the mpi coding in this unit is meant to be the best, i know megasquirt is still work in progress or at least it was when i last checked i have .pda manuals for both if you want to read over them

Edit: the manuals are on that site you listed lol*happy*

I read articles a couple of years ago and was very interested because the setup is supposed to address the shortcomings of using a siamesed 5 port head. Can anybody confirm that the Canems kit really works?

It doesn't address all of the issues since it will only do semi-sequential injection.

That means it won't allow different fueling for the inner and outer cylinders which is essential if you want to match AFRs. This is due to the fact that wall wetting contribution will mostly contribute to the inner cylinders fueling which has to be compensated for by different injection pulse width and/or different timing.

The guy in the usa (minimized on here IIRC) is happy with his running canems. That is all I know about it. I do know that there were a few teething troubles that I helped fix (like how often it injected fuel per crank revolution *surprised* )

Yeah but in that setup if I understand correctly, it's also nothing more than an electronic carb and the Canems siamese injection scheme (or should I say Marcel's scheme) is not only totally irrelevant but not correct, as you found out. In a single point injection setup such as this one (and the SC one in the other thread), you need to inject 4 times per cycle (or a multiple of that if you can) to have any hope of having something close to a correct fuel distribution.

So any ECU that can be set to the correct number of injection pulses will work in such a setup. The only advantages of one over the other are the other features and how well it can be tuned.
