A long shot but....

Has anyone found any information as to how the Bosch code numbers are broken down,

ie 0258-006-066
or 0258-007-057

What do the individual codes mean ???

The Tech Edge site http://wbo2.com/lsu/ has loads of info on the common ones, how they work, types of plugs etc and it's clear the numbers in the code relate to things like construction type, sensitivity, cable length, plug etc, but I can't find anywhere that tells me how they relate..... *frown*

All I can find is site after site of equivilancy tables and what cars they are all fitted to but not the information I want.

My experience with Bosch Motorsport is that they use an incremental part number system and it does not signify anything in particular about the part. I may be wrong.
Here is a good site that you have probably already found:

Thanks matnrach - that was one of the sites where I found cross reference tables but not a code breakdown.

Even if the numbers are just incremental, there must be a table somewhere listing them all by their various characteristics.

To be honest, I'm amazed there are so many numbers when you look at the comparison tables - I would have thought it was in the motor industry's interest (Bosch especially) to limit the variations and make the car manufacturers standardise !!!!

I'm used to work with Bosch parts. Don't expect to find description of all references, feel lucky if you find those you can buy.
As matnrach said there is no system in references. Except for the first 2xx digits which usually classify ECUs/sensors/parts.

The Bosch LSU4 WBO2 sensor, is the same throughout, the only differencies being the lenght of the flylead and type of connector.

The only other possible difference is the calibration resistor, but for our purpose, they are not used and the calibration is done in the software of the controller

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
