hi, i know this isnt a forced induction question, or even an aftermarket ecu question, but i know a lot of you guys know your injection stuff so thought someone might be able to answer a query?

a lot of the mini spares companys sell a larger 52mm throttle body, but also an alloy 48mm throttle body. i was wondering if there is any benefit of having the throttle body housing made of alloy?

the two tb's are a simular price. all i can think of is that the plastic throttle bodys sometimes stick?

any advice apreciated. many thanks

ally better than plastic.

48mm throttle better than 52mm throttle, unless you have a fire breathing engine and even then it doesnt really make much difference.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

i cut the restricter down to allow the throttle i already have to let it open to 90 degrees. also tightened up the throttle cable. feels much nicer to drive now. its otherwise standard. is it worth looking at getting an alloy tb? i can get one for very cheep(48). will be adding k+n induction, and different backbox, thats all i plan on doing for now.
