Well, I don't know what I'm more suprised at, the fact that I actually got around to race my car on a circuit, the fact I didn't spin or crash, also the engine didn't miss a beat all day.

I found that 26psi was a bit too much for me to handle so dropped it down to about 17psi.

video footage to follow.

looking forward to it - did you let Endaf in the seat?

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

some info on this website.
http://www.grimleyraceway.co.uk/news.html

not sure on what power is was pushing out, not had the time to get the car to rollers.

The racing was cut a bit short due to a few bumps.

I did practice, two heats and a final. My driving still has loads and loads of improvement, but I was getting better all the time.

Laptimes where tumbling.

Power steering needed now to help with torque steer

Near Lincoln

mate, i know at some point you struggled to bleeed off boost, what was the problem?

i've got the same at the moment and think its due to a cracked wastegate!

Not got my ards, so didn't have race licence, not sure how they got around it??

Iain, I had problems with mine overbooting, never had problems getting the boost. I found even with the wastegate held wide open, I was still seeign 20psi + boost. I had to fit an external wastegate to fix the problem.

sure on the 5 porter you had problems getting boost though?

To be honest i'm going to stick some more preload on it and see what happens. i have a stronger actuator spring somewhere as well but that was too strong last time!

I've been adviced to go for one from a corsa.

Still working on the video, got software problem, at the mo, need new licence code which I can't get till monday.

Just been looking at the data logging from my practice run, think I may been to adjust my boost settings, it would it appear that I was boosting at 30.54 psi
eeek!

Thought it felt quick!

as i understand it (and its prob in the 16v link) the corsa ones need coding, because the ecu tells the steering ecu hiw fast you are going so as that it can adjust the resistance at the wheel where as fiat just do this with a button the "city" button.

the "coding" is not cheap (at least not when i was last researching it) and thats why i started to look at the punto column but i got no further than simply looking at it as an option, i could not say if it was easier/harder/doesnt fit.

In theory then you may have been the first person to drive a 300+hp Turbo Twink.

Not sure mate, the engine did love the boost.

anyway, here is the video on 17psi of boost.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSYUkBTTgdw

sorry the video quality and synco is a bit out, I'll do a better quality one when my driving improves.

Still learning to drive the bloody thing. I need some slick to give me some more traction, as road tyres and 30psi doesn't work.

As you can see, I'm not good when I get traffic around me, at least I didn't come last.
