well. i have beavered away on a 202 head and with the stainless MS valves and quite a bit of effort I managed to get (at 11mm lift) 60 CFM@10 inches of water on the exhaust.
That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder. On 15th Aug, 2011 robert said:

I just skimmed my 202 after HOURS of work, to get 9:1 comp. I then found a crack between a water channel and the combustion chambers. That's because so many of you wankers run without anti freeze. Bugger! On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

I can quarantee that that head was run with anti freeze though Vegard! It was the original head from my time machine 1100, which had covered 58000 since new when that head was taken off. The block and other parts where spotless, heck I didnt even change the waterpump on it... And it had the cast impellor.

Anyway, it was corroded inside. Maybe 70-ies antifreeze was junk!

I guess it was rusty from storage yes, but severe pitting on the inside is not what caused this, it must have been some trouble while casting, or the grinding we have done on it... The block was spotless on the inside when I rebuilt that engine |
