Does anyone have a list of cars that where fitted with MAP sensors as standard? Looking few the small collection of Haynes manuals I've acquired most cars seem to have MAF sensors instead, and I'd like to avoid having to go round checking under bonnets for a sensor that may or may not be there.

Nearly all the VAG engines 1.6l and under are MAP. They would be your best bet if your going to a scrappy because they are shit engines so they will be abundant.
Most of the bigger VAGs are air mass.
Ford mostly use air mass.
Toyota always use MAP.
Renaults usually use MAP.
Avoid BMW and Merc as they never use MAP.

They are just random ones that stick out in my mind. If I can think of anymore I'll post them up

A simpler question might be....what do you need the map sensor to do ?

Then we can suggest where to look.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Almost all engines with variable valve timing VVT use MAF. Also all diesels, as they usually don't have throttle.
Alfa use MAF (VVT). Fiat/Lancia use both, depends on the engine.
