I spoke to a bloke called Andy who works for Omex and he said they had an injection turbo project that he hoped would be up and running by the end of this year. Anyone heard anything?

Interesting how Omex don't yet think it'll work but MiniSpeed sell Injection kits using Omex ECU's...

Did you post this on miniclassic ages ago???

I spoke to someone in omex the begining of the year at the autosports show. They told me then "unoffically" that there are still problems with a n/a a series

What do you think about this emeralds project: http://www.emeraldm3d.com/em_projects_Aseries.html ?
I've been talking to Marcel Chichak who did this reasarch: http://www.planet.eon.net/~chichm/efi/siamese.htm, and he told me that it should be fine as long as there is 10cm (or more) of inlet pipe between injector and head and if you are using carb inlet manifold it can only help because it dumps pulses from injector(s).

I have emerald mapped ignition on my mini, after spending time with dave and carl from emerald, if anyone can do it, I'm confident they can!

No problems with my ecu ever,

I seem to remember something about the green one running like a dog anywhere near idle. The info was probably about 3rd hand though. glad he got it sorted in the end

Too many projects!

He probably used huuge injectors...

Here's what I'we done:

This is my yonger brothers welding...he is still learning *happy*

I will bolt this to the turbo manifold and use normal programable ECU and see what will hapen. Emerald managed to get good results with similar setup (according to their page). This should be something like 'electronic SU'. I'll let you know the result.

Dave, I did post this ages ago, and I think we had a chat about it via email.

This was long before I got mine on the road.

I know Dave Walker was looking at a project in an MG, but haven't heard anymore since CCC went.

That green one did have running issues. I think it was running an SPI setup (could be wrong, will have to dig it out).

MiniSpeed don't run injection on Turbos as far as I know. They have had sucess running them on their superchargers though.

"They have had sucess running them on their superchargers though"
I recall seeing a 'rolling road shootout' in a mag that had the minispeed supercharged car in it - Massive low/midrange overfuelling was the operators comments i recall...
Exactly what i've discovered with injection... You either need a very long wet manifold (in which case you may as well keep the SU) or to be able to adjust the injection point wrt rpm, whilst keeping an eye on the injector duration. Another way is to have a few large injectors all wired together, such that when it is pulsed, a massive, short burst of fuel is thrown in there, at a point that satisfies full bore running and tickover... Only trouble is getting the duration small enough at tickover and/or having a smooth changover point as you activate more injectors...

The A just doesn't lend itself to injection...

Am I correct in saying all these problems go away once a 7 or 8 port head is used?

with no charge robbing etc

should be simple ish?????????
