Hi Guys, i need to replace the rear wheel bearings, at the moment they are the ball bearing type, apparently this type has been discontinued, will the taper type fit my hubs?
Thanks

Thread dig up !

Are the taper bearing still the preferred choice rather than the ball bearing ones !

You'd be lucky to find the ball bearing ones. The tapers should be better though.

There's seams to be loads of ball bearing ones available graham !! But not many taper !
I would of thought the ball bearing ones were the updated n preferred version of the taper to be honest !

What's the difference between these then .

It'll teach me to read things next time . So I gather there both taper but ones rollers and other balls !

Both roller - probably no different apart from manufacturer maybe.

The MiniSpares ones look different as they've shown the inner element and the race together rather than split apart.

Same part number GHK1548 (roller bearing),
same manufacturer (GHK).

EDIT - although, reading some other forum posts, I wouldn't be convinced that certain retailers would use a different part number if they managed to source a cheaper, non branded alternative. I'd be wary of a good deal on Minisport despite them using the GHK part number.
