Have started fitting the dump valve bits to the metro turbo, i decided to go for a silicone T-piece rather than welding to the plenum, so the car is easily returned to standard, i blocked the o.e dump valve spring with a nut and bolt with copper washers, i have also used one of the modified carb spacers which have a vacuum take off for the dump valve actuator. Very handy but this meant that the outlet from the turbo wasnt inline with the plenum trumpet, which made fitting the plenum back to the carb a little awkward, thankfully i hadnt cut to much off the length of the t-piece and it has stretched over. Let me know what you think!

Not a bad way to do it as it's still close to the butterfly. Nice work.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt... Then it's hilarious!

Cheers for the infor Alan, didnt need to in the end as the hose was long enough to stretch over the 2 outlets, heres a couple of pics of the dump valve fitted, it touches the rocker cover slightly but thats the only place i could get it to fit so i can live with that. I must say it works very well, im interested to know what difference putting it in the plenum makes? as it dumps everytime you take your foot off the throttle.

yeh it was avonbar, make sure you get the longer studs with it though or it wont fit. A point to note is that it makes bolting the plenum back to the carb a little tricky as the turbo outlet no longer peferctly lines up with the plenum, i inserted the plenum into the pipe and then tightened the plenum bolts and it all pulled up ok. *happy*

He has long since sold his Metro and moved on to VWs, so he is unlikely to come here anymore.
