The oil drain runs round the back of the block and into the old petrol pump outlet, same as the metro turbo. The bracket also mounts the clutch slave cylinder, there are pictures of it on here somewhere, cant remember where though |

Yes its right that the oil went back in the engine trough the petrol pump bracket on some JANSPEED A series TURBO engines, but look in the Vizard book, there is a pic where you can see a breather connected to this, on this version the oil went back trough the breather hole in the transfer gear house. |

Heres another, but if you see the Vizard book they made different setups of this, on one of the engines in the book it draines back through the clutch housing vent. |

Im looking to make up a manfiold abit like the janspeed turbo conversion to mount my gt17 turbo on. Has anyone done this? Im struggling to see how I can mount it with the brake master cylinder and servo and also the clutch slave cylinder, ive found a decent place for the turbo to sit but worried about the pipework making it all too hot ?. |

I think if you have a servo this setup is a no go area. You could move to a front mount rad and have it over the other side. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Gutted :( do you not think it would be possible if wrapped the exhaust piping and mounted some heart gaurds round the servo and slave cylinder? Really did think I was onto something thst would save fitting it tight agaist the bulkhead :( how hard is it to fit a front mounted radiator? Surely the dizzy and starter get in the way? |

Just looked ito getting rid of the servo but it seems I would need to change the pedal box to accomedate :( im guessing fitting a remote servo isnt straight forward either, ivwme figures a place for the turbo sit but worried about the heat from the piping heating the servo.. though im not sure how much heat would actually be effecting the servo? |

Any excess heat in the brake fluid is a no-no as you'll end up with a much higher chance of fluid boiling and brake fade On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Yh I was thinking the exact same thing, I was more thinking how much heat would actually get to the servo and cylinders to effect them if I fitted heat shields and wrapped the exhaust piping? Thanks |

Fitting a remote servo really isn't that hard.

I am making one like that. Stuck the turbo halfway into the side wing only to realise its still to close to the servo. So now i am looking into removing it. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Ok thanks guys. Is there any how to guids on how to fit a remote servo? Could do with some more reading before going any further down this route, if its too much hassel it might be easier at seeing how people fit it down the back of the engine under the carb... |

It's a lot simpler to fit it down the back.

Second on that. Took me about 4 hours to make a downpipe that more or les fits... still not happy with it. And then there is the other problems tgat come up like the exhaust getting in the way of engine mounts. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Ok getting some good advice now :) ive stripped the manifolds off my 998 ready to take the engine out so was having about of a play trying to get the turbo to fit down the back of the engine. I cant see how its done though, it seems so tight back there? Ive heard of people rotating the cold side turbine housing, but then id have to find a way to remount the actuator? |

Im far from a specialist but You can turn the cold and hot side so oil waste is still on the lowest side. ( maybe someone can explain better) i have cut of the fixing on the housing and made a new one for it. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

You will need to rotate (clock) the housings to get it working.

A T2 should fit but anything bigger requires modifications to the bulkhead Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:
