As some you know, my engine some suffered no oil pressure at startup. Had to prime it everytime.
Found cause at last. Well I didn't, got to thank mini13 for that.
Notice the cracked cover plate.......
I won't go into the what oil pump to buy as its been discussed in other posts.
Obviously I've gone for the Powerflow one now. *wink*

Always nice to find a definite root cause of a problem, I wonder if it was cracked by someone hammering the cam pulley onto the cam at the other end?

Did you fit the oil pump or camshaft first?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

It was a hair line crack till we pulled the pump apart. Joe did wonder if cam pushed against the pump.
Another thing I haven't checked yet, is the oil pickup pipe for splits.

It's either this, or being careless when torqueing it down. I wouldn't blame the pump, I'd blame the guy who mounted it all.

Are you looking for more lines to add to your sig V? lol.

I will say that the coverplate on the pump was a poorly cast peice of crap though, the new powerflow one with its THICK steel cover woldn't have cracked even it'd it had the shite beat out of the cam.
