Hi all, first off sorry if this has been asked before, ive tried searching the net, here and other forums, and not really found the answer i need.

i thought id try building a turbo engine for my van over the winter months, and picked up a engine that was ment to be a 1330, anyway after taking the head off, it has 20831 L2 std stamped on the pistons, so i take this as 1275 turbo pistons from doing a lot of searching, the bores look good, but i dont think its a turbo head, as the valve stems are all the same size? would this block be good to carry on with with these pistons? do i need a turbo head?

many thanks for any help.

Ian

You don't need a turbo head. For lower amounts of boost, you don't need turbo pistons either. Be careful - if you don't run it lean and don't crank the boost up into detonation, you'll be OK with an engine that's in good shape to start with. Also, check your compression ratio! If the engine was set up with high compression, then you'll need to reduce it to run boost.
