Fantastic.

This has to be the ultimate Mini.

I didn't realise that it was road legal until I looked inside it at MITP and according to Mini Magazine it is used for the daily commute occasionally!

So civilised with the auto-box as well.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Its not been an RS turbo motor for 2 years now, its 2.0 Zetec with ST 170 head, it made 650 bhp on the dyno but I still had about 100 bhp in hand, didn't get to use that this year as I had trouble keeping it in a straight line.
I am based in Basildon Essex.

Thanks for everyone's interest & hopefully when I come back next year I will be quicker again.
Look out at the mini showdown as I have promised Dave Hollis a ride up the track, that should be fun, will try to get some in car of that run.

Once again thanks guys
See you all soon

Stu

Its a great thing to watch, and top marks for offering to take Dave Hollis up the strip, at least that will save our ears from his whining commentary for a few minutes next year.........

I recon if I had put the auto box on the RS engine it would have gone mid 10s but I wanted to get somewhere near the power the auto box was built for so opted for new motor.
If I can get a trans brake fitted to this box it should get my 60 ft times down to 1.4s, with a little more power & stability 9.1s who knows you might even see an 8 sec yet*happy*

stewart , could i ask , what type of auto box is it ? and who modified it?

jim i know that on the tvr when i put in the clutched auto box , it gained around .5 sec in the 1/4.

The auto box is from a FWD chevy lumina & was uprated by a company in New York called Level Ten Transmissions, they quoted its power handling @ 850 bhp, it has a manual valve body which enables me to shift as I please, the only thing I need in the box now is a trans brake which will at the touch of a button lock forward & reverse in so that the car will not move no matter what revs I am trying to pull off the line, then when I let go of the button it lets reverse go & we take off a lot harder than it has been for the past 2 years, 60 ft times should come down to about about 1.3s- 1.4s.
