Well as those avid followers amongst you of the escapades of The DON will no doubt have read, I'm part way through removing the cyl head at the moment.
To do so I found I needed a 3/8 drive socket mounted 3/16" allen key, not something I've ever needed before and so not something I had.
A couple of hours trolling round Rotherham's various tool shops/motor factors left me empty handed, so it was off to ebay, thinking I'd find loads listed.
In actual fact I found none listed!

So after a bit of thought I later on decided to try a company I've used quite a few times before, www.primetools.co.uk
Went on the site, quite quickly managed to find what I wanted, ordered with a little note asking if it could be despatched ASAP, paid etc jobs a goodun. This was Wednesday evening, about 9pm.

Said socket arrived through my letterbox at about 2.30pm this afternoon, great service, what more can I say.....

Well I can't recommend this firm enough, UK based, I've had a call from the guy who runs it before to query an order, he was extremely helpful, keen prices, and whats more they don't sell shite, only Facom/Britool/Stahlwille/Sykes gear, and not at Yellow Pages down the trousers prices.
Only complaint is that the bugger sent me the Britool special offers pamphlet through with my socket so now I am trying desperately to talk myself out of spending about another 200 bar on shiny tools I don't REALLY need but would be nice to have....for example a set of Britool long reach metric combi spanners to go with the normal length set I already have........

or a nice new set of clutch rathchets like i was thinking about last week. not used primetools yet, but may well do in the near future. cheers for pointing them out tom

Be interested to know how much as recently bought a long reach 5/32 allen socket from Snap on mail order.

Was about £12 all in I think, its a Britool 3/16" hex 3/8 drive.

tom, often if i need special old a/f or wihtworth size tools or nuts bolts, old motor bike shops are handy

Finally got round to ordering a socket mounted allen key, and whilst they were very quick I thought the postage was a tad pricey.
