This is how I did it. As I'm not a computer nerd, this only works in Microsoft Explorer as I converted it straight from Word.

If anyone can fix it or tell me how, feel free

Well done.

You make it look very easy.

Are you prepared to divulge the cost?

CR is a little over 9:1 with flat top pistons.

Total cost was less than £1k. hers is a breakdown

Mirage Manifold £350.00
Turbo free
Oil feed £50.00
Carb free
Inlet manifold free
exhaust free
Head £200.00
Pump £20.00
Regulator free
Intercooler £20.00
Pipes £10.00
Bits and bobs,
gaskets and
fuel pipe
and clips etc. £100.00
actuator free

Total £750.00

I reckon all the free bits could be got for £250

Very good Joey, I actually did it over 10 days. 2 hours a night between 8 and 10pm (after my boy goes to bed). So in reality, I had oily hair and an aching back every night for nearly 2 weeks.

It wasn't the only thing nagging me when I got back into the house either!

Nice one, couple of questions as ever.

I noticed you removed a 12G295 head and fitted a 12G295 head (with standard chambers) I'm guessing that there were a few differences between the heads? if so what where they if you don't mind me asking?

Also I'm guessing the you didn't connect up the water cooling to the turbo, and you kept the MG cam, yes? no?

As an aside I've converted the page so it can be viewed in firefox and all good browsers, if you pm me you email address I'll send it over to you.

The only differences between the heads is that the chambers are bigger (28cc compared to 24cc) and the exhaust valve guides were relived a bit to stop them binding.

MG cam has been kept and no I didn't connect up the water cooling (although I might do at some point in the future).

I have the page in PDF now, so it should be ok

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

It got a bit rusty to get it throug han MOT, so took it off the road last year. As soon as I finnish the hilclimber I'll be on it. Should be back on the road this summer for IMM.

I have covered 5,000 mile in it since the conversion, no problems.

So, 20 hours to build and 1 hour to take to bits.

It was a happy 5000 miles but the Sprint has taken it's place. I've sold the car and all the turbo gubbins will be for sale soon (and the funds from that will find their way to John K over the winter).

Oooooh sound interesting.
A twink motor in the sprint should be pretty unique, or is the hillclimber getting a 7-port ?

"So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"
"Same thing we do evernight Pinky!"
"Try to take over the world!"
