I'm moving to Harrogate.

As of October the 1st I start work in York and Suzy (the missus) starts work in Harrogate. So we're moving up there.

Not sorted a house yet, going to rent so we can get a feel for the area first. any advice welcome.

What I save in postage from minispares I can invest in wooly jumpers to keep me warm in the summer.

I don't think anyone on the forum is from Harrogate, but I know there are plenty in Yorkshire. Fastcarl for one will be able to pop up and take the piss out of my welding whenever he wants a laugh.

i went to harrogate once, really nice place, with some good proper 'driving' roads near by.

Not long ago since I was wasted in Harrogate I can tell you :) I really like Harrogate, small nice town.

The A59 between Harrogate and Skipton is a classic.

Some of my ancestors went to York once.

the house prices ar staggering though
if i was going to move it would be harrogate or... weatherby check that small town out also iam about 30 mins away

I live 15 mins down the road.

Also lived there for 7 years. And study there too.

Lots of Americans mind you because of the base. Hence the silly rent/house prices.

But a nice place.

I thought that Harogate had some history, but it appears to be stuck in the 80s.

And who let my missus go to the pub? I thought that she was spending a lot of time up north for no reason.

i worked up in harrogate for a few weeks last year, its one of the few places that i thought "i could actually live here"

Its a lovely place, nice one, and your not far away from some awesome driving roads and countryside for some awesome days out

Digging up a very old post but....

Went to make a visit to Mini Spares North this afternoon only to find that it has moved...all the way to York!

hahahaha, moved a while ago now. Much more convenient as I now don't live in Harrogate and drive past it every day.
