Hi guys,

I'm contemplating supercharging and fuel injecting my engine. After reading most of the Fuel Injection threads, my head now hurts! *tongue*

My concept is to use a single Jenvey throttle body (http://www.jenvey.co.uk/) which houses two injectors, on a manifold similar to a HIF44 manifold and have the charger blow through..
..Or have the supercharger mounted directly to the manifold and have the injectors firing into the charger.

I basically just need someone to tell me it will work, as from what I've seen, fuel injecting a 5 port is rather difficult to get right *oh well*

I remember reading of someone that used the Jenvey bodies which worked (which gave me the idea) but I cant seem to find it again.. :(

Also if anyone has recommendations on the management system I should use.. I'm not after anything particularly 'unique' or different, I just want something that looks good, and more importantly, WORKS!

Your help is MUCH appreciated!! *happy*

Cheers,
Sam

Yes it will work,

The issue with injecting the 5 port can be sort of got around by mounting the injector futher away from the head,

in the situation you describe, having the injectors where an SU would have been will give you effecivly a mapable electronic carb.

as I see it without getting into the whole problem of injector timing and charge robbing there are 2 injected supercharged installs you can do...

1) copy what Vmax scart have done, and inject into the charger ( this helps the charger seal beter and make it a tad more efficient too) http://www.vmaxscart.co.uk/

2) move the charger to the front of the engine, have the charger blow through an intercooler and then through the "electronic carb"

Fantastic! Now I just need to know what management people are using with success... I was thinking MegaSquirt?

This is a dodgy paint of what I'm thinking of --

Blow through 'electronic carby' with water injection on the inlet pipe to the supercharger...

Any thoughts?

Sam

Hi,
MS or VEMS.
I personally would go for VEMS as the connectors are better and the WBO2 is built in too.

You will need either a large dump valve or a bypass for the blower for part throttle if you use blow through.

Have a look at the video on the "blown imp" thread. His dump valve operates at idle.

I would put the blower at the front and use an intercooler. Then you will not need water injection and also gain about 30hp!

I am using an Emerald K3 with a JenveySF45, running in NA. I know that one other member is using the same with a Turbo setup to great effect.

I am very happy with it, not done my rolling road session yet, but just tuning it myself using my LC1 wideband I have it running quite well.

Check out this older thread neilj1678 is the other UK guy using Jenvey and had some outstanding advice for me.

Karl and Dave at Emerald have been great too, I recommend them.

I say go for it, the simple capability to adjust fuelling, timing, injector timing and many other elements with a laptop allows you to fine tune the car more accurately and consistently than with a carb and points. It also allows you to make a royal mess as it is so easy to "just try" some settings and get way off the mark. Saving the maps at regular times is a great tip.

Have fun!

Hi all,

If anyone would like any details or pics of my setup just let me know. I'm working in Africa for the next couple of weeks but can dig out some info when I get back.

Cheers
