i've done a search but had no luck! so starting a thread, i know the mg metro cam is/has been used, is this the kc500?
& also the piper255 which i think is a turbo cam?

what other cams are suitible for this application? i know there is nothing specificly made so a bit of trial n error is in it but more tech chaps can possibly explain!

i'm considering the sw5, the mg metro cam is top of the llist at present, what are the thoughts on what i should go for & reasons why if possible, simple terms are always good :)

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

Metro cam is a KC500 yes. I wouldn't worry about using a second hand cam.

i've had an email back from kent cams saying that the kc500 is listed as a turbo cam??????? hey! & from them its £171!!! is that right! i thought a cam is about £75!!!

i would consider a 2nd hand cam but there is'nt markings to show if its an mg-metro cam so how do ya know? i'd be worried about the wear on the lodes too! any marks on the bearing surfaces are easy to spot, or you can rub a piece of copper across the bearing surface part of the cam, if it has copper left on it theres to much scoring!

I've only ever used 2 cams. MG metro and Ph 2.

The Ph 2 made the car very peaky and hard to drive. The MG cam makes good progressive power.

I'm sure the other cams you're thinking about are worth a try, but as no-one else has tried them as far as I know we can only suggest how good or bad they may be.

But he also said that the MG cam and 940 head on a 998 wouldn't make over 140 bhp, and he'd proved this on his dyno!!

the only proof of what is working is that the mg mety cam is very high on the list, it's the same as kc500 (the price make think that's they are not reground cams), Mr Avonbar gave some numbers for his phase 1 turbo cam (known to be an hardworker one), which are exactly mg mety and kc 500 figs

Hey Fella's I was at Grahams today and asked him about RE-13T in that side of the globe.

He said Keith Calver is selling them over there (I dont know the name of them though... but its the RE13T profile)

Call KC he can tell you.

Cheers,
Peter.

Well Tom, lets set the record straight them shall we?

1. For the record, I left because I could not have myself or my company associated with racist and increasingly abusive threads that usually had you posting in it. Minisprocket also left for the same reasons I believe. There was nothing else to it.

I had complaints from advertisers about the way the forum portrayed certain companies and their staff as well. Just look how few industry professionals post now - none....

2. I can not post pictures intended for publication and claim any form of copyright for them. I can not make that any clearer. I was clear that the manifold was made by another, (very helpful and also sadly left the site), member of TM.

3. The person in question, I won't mention their name, but he knows who he is, never actually FINISHED any articles. The only work I ever had off that site member was 6 months too late and not good enough quality for our high standards. Remember, unlike other publications, work here is subjected to a fearsome review panel of industry professionals and BS and half truths are not tollerated.

Sour grapes and excuses won't cut it I'm afraid. It's hard to find your work rejected but not everyone is cut out to be a writer. Sorry. Some people can't handle the rejection and go off on one. Sad, but it's quite common.

To be clear, Matts photography is not included in the above comment and is in fact going in the first issue. First rate work in fact.

4. As you have openly published libel on this forum, I require your address, my appointed solicitors have drafted a letter for you.

Or you can remove the comment and appologise.

The final option is that you provide proof of your accusations, which will be amusing as I'm looking at the raw data now.

I don't mind either way, it really depends on how deep your pockets are.

5. All my friends on the forum and in the business know that the magazine was delayed due to my fathers death. I looked after him for the last 7 months of his life last year. This seemed slightly more important than anything else at the time.

I deeply resent the way this forum has been hijacked by a tiny minority of people who insist on slagging off other people or being vindictive.

Bearing in mind you hand out vast amounts of information and dont even own a running car, well, lets just say you amuse us all.

I have personally put a large amount of money into the MS efi project and supported the workers on these projects and been a sponsor of this forum. Some thanks then to find this drivel constantly posted.

I will be checking back on the site now and then to ensure that no more such drivel is posted. If it is then I will have to take further legal action to protect my interests so please, just get on with enjoying Minis and cut the bitching.

I'm sorry that it has come to this for the sake of the vast majority of sensible users. I would have thought you would be bored of the subject several months on but as you insist on behaving like an idiot, you will leave me no choice.

My best wishes to the vast majority of the club members and I hope to see you all at the usual shows this year with the MAGA7INE turbo mini.

Regards

Peter
