i was watching that dodgy show the other day "Vroom Vroom" & they are modding a vauxhall astra estate to drag race

they are pumping the tyres up for better times!

i thought that on a front wheel drive you dropped the pressue for better traction

are these ppl on the show stupid or have i got the wrong end of a cacky stick?

It depends what kind of power is being pumped out and whether thy are struggling with traction

seen the programe you meant. didnt they also fit go faster stripes. lol.

i have always been advised to run lower tyre pressures by people that seem to know what there doing, and seems to help.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

exactly as i run my cars. wider tyres on the back keeps it stable at high speeds also

bin the burberry! its all in black for me, blk jeans, black polo shirt, dodgy belt n trainers, mucky hands frm car fiddling & some bevours! that makes the times quick!

i've seen honda civics at the strip recently & on tv & they tend to run superwide slicks on the front & skinny rims on the back, do any mini owners do this?

i used to drop my tyre pressures to about 15-18psi on on my 1.8 metro & incrase the rear pressure to 36psi & it seemed nice a stable, ran nice n str8????

Ok so searched for this and found sarcasm.. haha funny but didnt find the answer.. what are best pressures for the strip ( for 13's ) and is it best to stiffen the rear shocks at all?

Double hard bastard

brookwood woking

I find it takes a lot of playing with, as too hard and is not that good,, but To soft and it gives lots of drag.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Get a remote temp gauge off the bay (about £15) and do some burn outs checking tyre temp across the tread after each one. Lower temp in the middle means tyre is under inflated and vice versa. Set tyre press. accordingly. Run the non driven tyres at the highest press. You can.

it depends on the tyre, on road tyres I found higher pressures worked best 35+psi. going softer left two lines where the outside of the tyre made contact during a burnout, higher, left a fat line. also found on norml road tyres a burnout slowed down my launch. this is all at crail btw which is just an untreated concrete runway and totally different to a prepared track. proper drag tyres I had to run down to about 7psi to get them to work properly, totally different beasts.
