I will give them a call tomorrow and order the upgrade for mine. Do you know if it is a cd/download or return to base upgrade? Check out the (slow) progress at.......

It's funny to see that most of their new features seem to be replicating what Megasquirt does either in the base code or in the extra code. I'm not saying that's where they got the idea from but I wouldn't be surprised.

A lot of the features in that new release were planned before MS even started. DW has never seen MS as a threat (I am a different matter, but we have resolved that little issue). The selling point with emerald is the tuning service, which if you factor that in makes it great value for money. The new firmware is about 3 years late due to business pressures and feature creep, so is really just bringing the M3D up to date with other commercial offerings. |

Thanks for correcting my misperception, Bill. I still think it's interesting to see the similarities.

Jean, I know to people like us tunning an engine is just another job to do on the car, like wiring in the lights. But to some it's a real challenge and a bit scary, even people on here.

I have found, in my travels in MS land, that there are those who just can't be bothered. I had a couple of people who had built their cars from the ground up, but just couldn't get their heads around MS. My view has always been that, if you can build the car, you can tune it aswell. |

I contacted Emerald yesterday, good news is my ECU is compatible. Bad news is that it is indeed a return to base update, and they have a short backlog at the moment. Apparently it is selling like hot cakes. Gives me time to get my wideband in place I suppose Check out the (slow) progress at.......

I see V-max scart is selling a superchargerkit for mpi with Emarald, does that mean that the Emarald is working on a a-serie without the supercharger too?? www.shag.no |

Emerald themselves do not believe their ECU will do port injection on an A-series. Not sure what the difference is - if you get my drift. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I have the K3 running a Jenvey throttle body as a wet manifold solution. I am not using the MPI injection manifold. I am running NA.
