Racing at Gurston down at the weekend we were against a mini running full injection. The system in question was a polestar system and the man in the car was Mr Polestar.

He was running a alphawebber throttle body with 2 injectors. He also had a cam sensor. I can only comment on what I saw and what he told me, but it seemed to work very well indeed. iirc he was running a 649 cam, and had no problems. He did say their was a trick to it and that he spent days on the rollers getting it to work, but once the penny dropped he has seen good results.

One of his customers is running a 1293 (might be 1380) turbo motor on the injection and has also got good results.

Don't ask me any technical questions on this as I don't know. I am just reporting on what I saw. And what I saw I was very impressed with.

Mr Polestar, LMAO

"Hello i'm Mr Polestar"

seriosly though, I knew they were doing a 3d setup, didn't know it was going to do injection to though, judging from their other kit it should be pretty good.

I think his name is Neil Turner (not actually Mr Polestar)

Peter,

No it is NOT a wet manifold setup and he has got it working. He had to use a cam sensor to stop the charge robbing. Like I said I don't know the details, and he was obviously not keen to tell me, I am just reporting what I saw.

However, we (as in this forum) are not the only clever people in the world and, to me at least, it is no supprise that somebody has had a good go at this.

Wil,

I don't care what fuel system you have, it will never idle very well with a 649 cam compared to an MG meteo cam.

Indeed - but whatever is on here is available for anyone to see... And I'd find it hard to believe that anyone with internet access wouldn't have even looked on here for resources / information of some kind... We know Nigel is on here for example - and he knows about the efi forum...

Good on him for getting it running - this is all good news for the 'cause'... So long as it's not some overpriced, user un-friendly setup like the Calver/MBE/Webcon system then it will do allright I'm sure.

Was it just two injectors Wil - or were there a couple more hiding away under the TB?

It was just 2 injectors, can't remember the type (although we did ask) they were around 400cc/min though.

He was happy to chat about it, but it was fair enough that he did not want to give it all away.

I can't comment on the price, but I think it is comparable to Emerald.

Only 400cc/min???

Wow - no wonder you beat him LOL!

Still - that's further than any of us have succesfully achieved however :)
And that shows room for improvement. *happy*
