Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

NOTE:

For connections between the carb and regulator, 6mm / 1/4" hose is best.

The return ALWAYS needs to be at least the "next size up" from the supply - ie if the line from pump to regulator is 6mm / 1/4" then you need 8mm / 5/16" return.

NOTE If you have a larger diameter feed hose than the return hose, you will ALWAYS have sky-high fuel pressure or at least pressure that starts causing issues as boost climbs.

FYI - If both suppy / return are the same size, then you need to put a restrictor in the inlet feed to the regulator, such that the "return" has a greater overall flow potential.

Hope the pictures say it all *happy*

i've got a really good picture of this out of the austin workshop manual, it covers the entire fuel system. Might be better as a new topic and delete this one if everyone thinks its suitable?

sorry to revive a thread nearly as old as turbominis, but where does the bottom right outlet on the carb go to? It isn't quite clear.

On the original Metro Turbo setup it is connected to an anti-run-on valve. You don't need it, so connect a piece of fuel line to the connection on the carb and block it off (make sure it is airtight) on the other side.

regardless of how old it is, its the uppermost 'topped thread in the FAQ section, and contains invaluable information to anyone who wants to klnow how to connect up a carb, plus other more recent threads link to it.
i was trying to find out exactly how the part throttle lean off pipe is connected and where to, so that trips to and from the track dont use a whole tank of petrol, and have found only this thread and others that point to it, so im still looking if anyone knows where any are.
cheers

a quick question;

I took a complete enigne out a metro turbo and was carfull to keep all the fuel pipes connected between the fuel pressure regulator and the carb so i could use it for future reference.

I was plumbing everything up yesterday using this as a guide and note the top connection on the regulator on the metro engine was plumbed to point 4 on the carb and not the plenum - there is a y piece in the line but it has come disconnected and doesn't fit the pipe coming off the plenum. I take it the y went to the anti-run on valve but cant get my head round the differance between the connections above and what i have (needless to say, I've corrected my plumbing to suit the points above)

cheers
