For the second time in as many months I've paid for an item I won on ebay with a cheque (sent a printout of the invoice with the cheque) and both times after cashing the cheque the seller has contacted me to say that it hasn't arrived (different sellers but both auctions for Mini parts).

By fluke the first time it happen I had to go to see the bank about something else, so I checked with them to see if it had been cashed, but I was very close to blindly writting another cheque and posting it off (it could have easilly got lost in the post).

The second time I was a bit more suspicious and automatically checked my bank account to see if the cheque had been cashed, and low and behold it had.

From now on it's going to be a case of no paypal no purchase(except for collection in person)

That's terrible, and so stupid! How difficult is it to cheque, it's not a foolproof scam is it?

Have you reported to ebay?

Somewhere around Swindon

i dont mind sending cheques

1) you have there address
2) you have proof cheque has been cashed
3) you have there name

you need all the above to claim your money back though court

personally i am thinking of giving up on paypal and only accepting cheques or cash, i have been ripped off twice now with brand new equipment that i have sold, they have complained to paypal that its not as described paypal give money back regardless of what i say and i recive back a completly different piece of equipment

IMHO paypal is run by a bunch of monkeys with there heads up there arse
