Off Topic... Iain what is it you do offshore? as i used to be an MWD/LWD Engineer for Halliburton Middle East a few years back. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. |

Why not just get a nut with the correct thread, and weld this to the downpipe ?
